  • Regardless of your level of swimming competence or experience, these sessions provide you with a structured training programme to help you become a better, stronger and faster freestyle swimmer.
  • These training sessions will allow you to progress at your own pace when it’s convenient for you.
  • Please note: This is not a learn to swim programme.

Three levels of intensity and volume (distance)

These 36 training session plans are divided into three separate levels of intensity and volume (distance).

  • Allowing you to gradually develop your fitness and technique at your own pace.
  • You simply select the level that suits your current level of ability or fitness.
  • Once you have improved and have comfortably worked your way through one level, you can move on to the next.

Level 1

  • With little or no previous swimming training experience.
  • Used to swim but have not swum regularly for more than a year.
  • Required to start at a lower training intensity and volume.
  • Distance: ranging from 100m to 1000m
  • Time: ranging from approximately 5 minutes to 25 minutes

Level 2

  • With some previous swimming training experience.
  • Used to swim but have not swum regularly for more than six months to a year.
  • Required to start at a slightly higher training intensity and volume.
  • Distance: ranging from 1000m to 2000m
  • Time: ranging from approximately 20 minutes to 50 minutes

Level 3

  • With recent or current swimming training experience.
  • Required to start at a high training intensity and volume.
  • Distance: ranging from 2000m to 3000m
  • Time: ranging from approximately 40 minutes to 60 minutes
